OBTAINING QUALIFICATIONS RECREATIONAL CRAFT SKIPPER (P.E.R.)
Recreational boat skipper. Operation of a boat up to 15 metres in length and 12 miles parallel to the coast.
The title of “Patrón de Embarcaciones de Recreo”, or as it is usually called “El PER”, is the most demanded title, as it allows coastal navigation with boats up to 15 metres. It does not require any previous licence so it is not difficult to obtain, to get it you will need to pass a theoretical test and do the relevant PER practices.
If you want to make trips as a skipper, this is the most suitable qualification. In addition to being able to steer motor and sailing boats, with the necessary practices you will also be able to drive jet skis. The practices do not require an exam, only the theory.
